Join our team

Research in our group spans organic and organometallic chemistry, polymer science, and nanotechnology. Students in the group will learn techniques for the synthesis of small molecules and polymers, with an emphasis on optoelectronic materials. Students also have the opportunity to learn techniques such as fluorescence spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, and density functional theory, among others.

How to apply

Undergraduates
We are always looking for highly motivated undergraduates to join our team. Students in second year and above in Chemistry or a related specialization are welcome to apply for summer research assistantships. Limited spots are also available for top first-year students considering majoring in chemistry. Apply to Zac by email with your CV and unofficial transcript.
Graduate Students
Students interested in an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry should apply to the Department of Chemistry at UBC here. Once you’ve been admitted, contact Zac by email with your CV and transcript. Domestic students are strongly encouraged to apply for funding through NSERC, and are welcome to contact Zac to discuss eligibility for scholarship support.
Postdoctoral Fellows
Postdoctoral fellows holding external funding are always welcome to apply. Applicants should contact Dr. Hudson by email with a cover letter and CV including the contact information for 2-3 references. Applicants will ideally have experience in synthetic organic or inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, or organic electronics. Due to the volume of applications received, only qualified applicants will be contacted.
